The Church and the Bride

Apr 12, 2026    Jared Lucas

The world has changed dramatically, and if we're honest, we've gotten comfortable in the darkness. We're no longer offended by what offends God. We show up, sing the songs, go through the motions—but are we truly engaged?

Jesus isn't coming back for a church that's just passing time. He's coming back for His bride—one who has made herself ready through obedience, intimacy, and complete surrender. Remember the ten virgins in Matthew 25? They all looked ready, but only five had oil. Only five had invested time building relationship with Him.

The question isn't whether Jesus is ready—He's always ready. The question is: are we? Have we poured ourselves out completely for Him, or are we just standing in a dark room waiting? True holiness requires separation from this world's standards and a pursuit that actually transforms us.

It's time to turn on the lights. It's time to be close like John, not just present like the crowd.
