Jesus On Purpose: The Path Of A Resurrected Heart Pt 11

May 3, 2026    Mark Torres

What if the power you're chasing isn't what transforms you? What if it's actually dying to yourself that brings real life?

This week we dove deep into the Beatitudes—not as a list of nice virtues, but as a roadmap from death to resurrection. Jesus didn't just perform miracles to wow the crowds. He immediately taught them what kind of heart can actually carry that power: one that's poor in spirit, mourning over sin, and humble enough to release control.

Here's the truth that hit hard: you cannot trust God in the storm if you haven't died to needing control. The disciples saw Jesus' power but still feared because they hadn't surrendered yet. Sound familiar? We want the miracles without the surrender, the blessing without the death. But Matthew 5 shows us a different path—one where we find security in the Father, worth in His love, and significance in community rather than success.

Are you ready to stop faking trust and start truly surrendering? The resurrected heart begins when we finally admit: "I am completely dependent on God."
